We are 100% solar power with backup generators to ensure your stays are as comfortable as possible. An EV charging station has been installed so you can recharge your electric vehicles while staying with us. When you get to the gate, there's a mile long common dirt road leading up to the house. Please be extra careful going up and down the road since it is windy and steep at certain sections. Also there might be traffic going the other way. Suggested speed limit is 10 mph. The closest grocery store in Sanger is 20 minutes away. There's a new mini-mart 6 miles west of the house. Since we are off the grid, you may experience lights flicker and TV's reset when the backup generator kicks in. Please be sure to stock up on supplies on your way up as we are at least 20 minutes from the nearest grocery store.

This Ontario cottage rental is located on Stoney Lake approximately 20 minutes from the Village of Lakefield The main floor features a sitting room with walkout to the covered deck, 2 bedrooms, kitchen and eating area with another sliding door walkout to the covered deck overlooking the lake. The finished walkout lower level features a large living area, another (small) bedroom and sauna with whirlpool tub. There is also another eating area with extensive windows, ceiling fan and an oversized glass sliding door walkout to the lot. The lot is grassy with some trees and the water is a sandy shallow entry. The water slopes to approx. 3 feet at the end of the dock and deck at the lake. There may be some weeds depending on the season as you go further out past the dock but then the water shallows up again to a large natural sandbar in the lake. If you are here for fishing, you can fish Pine Flat Lake or the Kings River- both are about 25 mins away. You can fish higher altitude like Hume Lake or the streams that fed into Hume Lake at about a 35 min drive away. If you care to just generally check the area out you might start out at Project Cat Haven then head up into the park to see the giant Sequoias. If so you will come to fork in a road, turn right and you will go to Sequoia National Park, turn left and you will go up and around Hume Lake coming into Cedar Grove and Boyden's Cave. If your trip is a little different you can go wine tasting, get a hold of us and we can direct you to a few different wineries within a 20 minute drive. If you want a little more adventure in your trip we can get you in touch with the people for white water rafting on the upper Kings River or let you know where the locals raft at which is a nice leisure float for half the day. Numerous hiking and biking trails near by. On the road going into the house off of Hwy 180 we recommend driving at 15 miles an hour. Please be courteous as there are very few residences on this road and the road itself is not super wide. As far as getting around the rest of the area, all this information is available at the house. We are available and will respond within at least an hour. One of us is always around if any need arises. We are here to make your stay a nice one to remember but also not to intrude. We are a pet friendly location but we do have an additional cleaning fee due to the extra cleaning & hair removal that must be done as we pride ourselves in being clean & sanitized. The large propane BBQ on the patio lets our guests cook for a small or large group and the outside dining table lets you enjoy the beautiful surrounding while dining. There is a playhouse and swing-set for kiddos and adults can be one with nature in the private outdoor shower. Enjoy as much activity as you like, or take it easy and relax. Guest access: We have set up our home so that our guests have their own entrance, with keypad lock. If you want your privacy, you have it. The back porch is a kitchenette.You have access to the whole 10 acres. Which includes, walking trail, pool ( summer only) back yard, Front yard. You are welcome to use BBQ, smoker, infrared sauna...Please make arrangements with your host. Interaction with guests: The way we have set up the space, you will have complete privacy. But if you would like to meet your hosts, or have questions. You can do that too. We love meeting our guests. The common areas we will both be using is the back porch, the sitting room , dining room table, kitchen and property. Other things to note: We also have a portable baby crib and high chair if you have little ones. Ice chest and hiking poles available for use. The door code you will receive after you book. We have a dog. When you drive up she will bark. Because it's her job to let us know when people are here . But she is very sweet and not aggressive at all. She comes in the house..,but only to her kennel. She is not allowed to move about the home. We have cats, outside only. The only phone service that works here is Verizon. But we have a landline if you have another service. But we do have great wifi. Cat Haven is closed on Tues and Wed I have breakfast items available such as hot and cold cereal, bars coffee and tea. There are a few dates this summer that we will be out of town. We are a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat and work hard to comply with the NWF standards. Serenity is at the end of a Cul de sac and offers complete privacy on 13 acres. The view from the deck and front of the house overlooks a lovely meadow and the seasonal Mill Creek just beyond. The house comfortably sleeps 8-10 persons on a Master bedroom king, an adjacent loft with two twin size and two full size beds and a family room queen sofa sleeper. Enjoy the view from the upstairs deck or downstairs patio. The home has a fully stocked kitchen, washer, dryer, and two bathrooms. There is plenty of space for parking, to spread out, and to make yourself at home. We don't charge a deposit and there are no minimum stays. We want you to enjoy Serenity, even if for just one night, without breaking the bank. Please inquire about special pricing if you would like to hold your special event at Serenity. The guests will have access to the entire house, inside and out. The meadow, and the seasonal creek. This is NOT a shared space and you will have the house to yourself. Firewood is available for purchase on the property on the rack just outside the front door and in the bins against the garage. The wood in the bins against the garage is for the outside fire pit and the wood on the rack is for the wood burning stove. There is a box in the kitchen to pay for the firewood. Please contribute an an appropriate amount of money for the amount of wood used. My daughter and I cut, split, haul, and stack all of the wood ourselves. We also provide propane for the gas fired BBQ. Please remember to turn off the gas when you are finished using the grill. We will be available for communication up to, during, and after your stay via the AirBnB app and phone. We will not be present during your stay. You will have complete privacy. Periodically, I am up at the property working and am able to greet you as you arrive, but this is a rarity.

At The EDGE of the Sierra National Forest is where you are going to find yourself when your stay is booked at our family mountain getaway. Our home has one of the best views in all of Shaver and you'll enjoy looking out over the forest watching along as the clouds roll by throughout your stay. Perched on a solid granite slab overlooking the Sierra National Forest with Kings Canyon National Park and Sequoia National Park off in the distance, this is a perfect spot to launch into the forest for hiking and outdoor exploration. In the winter, children can sled right outside the downstairs sliding doors and then come inside and warm up next to the fireplace. Or enjoy your time skiing at China Peak, only 21 miles up the road from our home. When there isn't snow there is lots of runaround space in the gated neighborhood. Bring bikes and scooters, or set up a game of whiffle ball at the end of the cul-de-sac. In the summer, Shaver Lake Marina is 4 miles up the road. The outside is brought indoors with a 2400 sq. ft. reverse floor plan space featuring great views. Slate flooring and bathrooms, wood flooring in the common living area, knotty pine accents throughout the home, and handmade pine barnyard sliding doors as your gateway to the outdoors. Delight in the carefully curated decor of handmade and vintage pieces, mid-century modern furnishings, and rustic elements reminiscent of an old mountain home. The kitchen features a full array of KitchenAid stainless steel appliances including a range, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher - everything you need to enjoy an evening meal after a long day of mountain and lake activities. Pull up a stool at the fifteen foot granite counter to chit chat, eat breakfast, solve a puzzle, or play a hand of cards. In the morning, grab a cup of coffee or tea and head out to the balcony seating area which offers an astonishing view of the sun rising over the mountain ridge. The balcony is a great spot to read and talk while the kids play outside below. In the evenings, sink into the buttery Italian-tanned leather sofa around the gas fireplace, which turns on with the flick of a switch. All flatscreen televisions are equipped with DISH TV, equipped with hundreds of channels, including Sirius XM. The upstairs Master Suite also has a gas fireplace, jacuzzi tub, dual walk-in slate shower and a king size bed. There are two bedrooms downstairs with a full bathroom located in the downstairs hallway. All comforters are 100% down with duvet covers. Linens and towels are provided. This is a quiet neighborhood with only a few rentals. This is a single-family home rental with HOA rules that are expected to be honored. We feel very blessed to have this as our vacation home and ask that renters be considerate to not just our home but also to our neighbors. It's disheartening for all of us when people are disruptive and leave litter on the granite slab, which is a common area to us all.
